Vintage Flower Ring with a Ruby-Red Heart on an Open Shank
A coloured stone at the centre, a wreath of bright stones around it: the rosette has held its place from the Georgian period through the Victorian century to today. This example, from the second half of the twentieth century, is a light and wearable reading of it.
Six round-faceted stones around a ruby-red centre, each in its own claws on a pierced gallery that lifts the head. The shank crosses behind it and stays open, which leaves a little play in the width.
Worn: the gilding is rubbed along the edges of the shank, the claw tips and under the setting, where pale silver lies bare. Greenish patina beneath the head, fine scratches across the shank. All stones present and firmly set.
